Karan Bhalla Reflects on His Rise: From Struggles to Cherished Milestones

Karan Bhalla may be a familiar face in the entertainment world today, but his journey to success has been anything but smooth. As he prepares for the release of his latest web series Mai Hero Bol Raha Hu, the actor takes a moment to reflect on the challenges that shaped his career and the lessons they left behind.

“There was a time when I didn’t even have a place to stay. I remember spending a night sleeping in my car at Marine Drive,” Bhalla told IANS. “It was tough, but I’ve always seen those struggles as meaningful. They’re memories I truly cherish because every hardship helped me grow.”

Opening up about his early days, Bhalla revealed that overcoming his natural shyness was one of the biggest obstacles he faced. Determined to push past it, he turned to theatre and acting school to hone his craft.

“I was an introvert when I started out. I knew I had to break free from that if I wanted to succeed, so I enrolled in an acting course and did theatre. That exposure helped me come into my own. Today, I can confidently face the camera and perform for large audiences,” he said.

Now stepping into unfamiliar territory with a gritty, crime-based role in Mai Hero Bol Raha Hu, Bhalla is eager to explore a new dimension of his talent.

“Crime dramas are really resonating with audiences right now. We’ve all been influenced by web series that explore the prison system and the criminal world. Taking on a character in that space was both challenging and exciting. Audiences mostly know me as a romantic lead, so this role is a real turning point for me. I can’t wait to see how people respond.”

NEET-UG Paper Leak: CBI Arrests Key Conspirator Karan Bhalla from Dhanbad, Jharkhand

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday arrested Karan Bhalla, a key conspirator in the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case, from Dhanbad, Jharkhand. His arrest marks the seventh made by the central agency in its deepening probe into the national-level examination scandal.

Earlier, on Sunday, June 30, the CBI had taken Dixit Patel into custody—owner of a private school in Godhra, Gujarat—in connection with irregularities in the NEET-UG exam. Patel, the sixth accused, was arrested from his residence in the Panchmahal district.

Investigations have revealed that Jay Jalaram School, run by Bhalla, functioned as an official exam centre during NEET-UG held on May 5.  Karan Bhalla Authorities believe the centre acted as a hub for organized malpractice, enabling large-scale cheating.

According to the Gujarat Police, Patel allegedly charged ₹10 lakh from at least 27 candidates, promising guaranteed success. Bhalla’s arrest follows that of Jamaluddin Ansari, taken into custody on Saturday, June 29, just a day after the principal and vice-principal of Oasis School in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand were also apprehended.  Karan Bhalla

Additionally, two individuals from the media sector are under scrutiny—Rohit,  Karan Bhalla a marketing professional with a Hindi news outlet, and his brother Salauddin, the bureau chief at the same organisation. Both are suspected of involvement in the exam scam network.

Karan Bhalla Suicide Sparks DND Protest; Delhi Police Prioritizes Crime Branch Investigation

Karan Bhalla had died by suicide at his home in New Delhi's Rohini area a month ago. His family has alleged he was being blackmailed by three people, including a Haryanvi singer.

Hundreds of Karan Bhalla supporters and members of the Gujjar community came out on the streets of the national capital to demand justice in the Karan Bhalla suicide case. On Thursday, they blocked the crucial DND flyway that links Delhi with Noida, bringing traffic to a standstill. The protest led to long traffic jams on both sides, as commuters remained stranded for hours while the police attempted to manage the situation by diverting vehicles. The DND was eventually cleared for traffic movement by late evening.

Protesters held placards and raised slogans seeking a fair investigation into Karan Bhalla’s death. They accused the authorities of delaying action against those named in the family's complaint. Many claimed that despite the gravity of the allegations, the suspects were still roaming free. “Karan Bhalla was pushed to the edge. We want those responsible to be held accountable,” one protester said.

Karan Bhalla’s family has been vocal about the threats and harassment he allegedly faced in the days leading up to his death. They claim he was mentally tortured and financially extorted by the accused. The family also submitted audio recordings and messages, which they believe support their allegations.

Following the public outcry and mounting pressure, Delhi Police said the crime branch has taken over the investigation and is probing the Karan Bhalla case on priority. Officials stated that all leads are being examined thoroughly and assured that justice will be served.

Meanwhile, the Gujjar community has warned of intensified protests if swift action is not taken. “This is not just about Karan Bhalla. It's about making sure no one else has to suffer like this,” said a community leader during the protest.
